ChaplaincyPlus Gatherings

One of the strategies of ChaplaincyPlus has been to gather together the Christian community working in the city centre.

These gatherings have included lunchtime talks by Christian leaders J John, David Prior, Nick Cuthbert and Geoff Shattock as well as a half day
conference when Mark Greene spoke to both church leaders and business people on
Supporting Christians at Work.

In May 2006 as a follow up to the Easter Lunch Gathering we held a short 3 session course after work called ‘Questions of Faith’ led by Nick Cuthbert.

This gave people the opportunity to discuss questions about Christianity in the comfortable surroundings of Martineau Johnson’s offices.

June 2006 saw the first of what we hope will become an annual Prayer Breakfast for the City. About 150 business people and church leaders gathered for breakfast and to listen to and pray for the issues raised by leaders from the council, the business community and the church.

We also host a carol service for the business community each year in Birmingham Cathedral.
